Teaching

Emma teaches the Adeline Toniutti method, based on anatomical and physiological data, created in collaboration with 26 doctors and specialists of the body and voice (ENT surgeons, phoniatricians, speech therapists, physiotherapists, etc.) brought together in an exceptional way to help everyone understand the mechanisms of the voice.

It is built on 5 essential pivot points that form the vital and indispensable checklist for every singer:

Perfect your posture

Trigger the correct laryngeal movement

Optimise exhalation

Make the sound resonate

Articulate vowels and consonants

The 5 pivot points form an anatomical-physiological recipe and provide the bodily reference points necessary for singing. The goal: to feel the mechanisms at work in your own body that are specific to vocal technique. These pivot points free singers from their constraints so they can meet the demands of multiple repertoires, from contemporary music to lyrical singing. The student is guided to compose a true artistic palette of colours from which they can draw according to their identity and their path.

About Emma

From a young age, Emma Renaud was immersed in a musical environment. Her grandfather and uncle are composers. Born in Australia, she was part of Gondwana Choirs for 12 years. That is where her passion for singing began. She was able to discover a diverse repertoire and even tour Europe and China.

In 2019, Emma met Adeline Toniutti. From the very beginning, she was profoundly struck by her rigour and exacting standards combined with great kindness. It was the start of a beautiful friendship and later a long collaboration. With her, Emma discovered pop singing, which quickly became a passion. She studied Adeline's method for 5 years and its 5 pivot points. She participated in numerous projects, from New York to Milan to Star Academy. Passionate about the vocal coaching profession, Emma launched her career under Adeline's direction. Being bilingual, she began as an English coach and then moved to singing coaching 2 years ago. In parallel, Emma started medical studies but chose to redirect towards peer support in mental health. Her deep conviction is that singing is an activity with important and enormous benefits for mental health. She therefore wrote a thesis on this subject.

Today, Emma Renaud teaches pop singing in all styles and an introduction to lyrical technique. She welcomes students of all levels and all ages. She also gives English diction classes. These are particularly aimed at professional singers for whom pronunciation and prosody are essential.

Emma's approach reflects the values of CALYP. She aims for the progress of each individual, regardless of their level, through Adeline's anatomical-physiological method, always with kindness. In her eyes, the lesson room is a protected space where everyone is free to express themselves in their own uniqueness.

"Singing is the most intimate and human expression of all. As a vocal coach it is my duty to respect their singularity, and approach every student with a deep kindness for them to meet their full potential."
